Age: 17 Experience: First filmmaking experience was Matrix/Star Wars mini-fanfilm which never saw the light of day but was really cool considering that my friend and I learned Premiere and Photoshop and the camera and editing etc. Got my own camera for use in school project which didn't pan out, proceded to use it whenever I had the chance. Computer editing from the get-go. Currently use a Canon XL1 and am a member of the local school's film club.
1 computer animation course, but it was Bryce so I acted as a student teacher. Also film sports games for school varsity football and basketball. Right now i'm filming another one called 'Sanfred'. THis would be the first ever scripted film of mine.bert EDIT: spelling. Age: 31 Experience: 1st film was a horror film in high school shot with an 8mm camera about a guy who kills people with a weed eater. Studied Video Production at Liberty University although never finished my senior year. Got into desktop video 5 years ago using Premiere 4, started part time video business. Made several short Star Wars clips including 'Power of the Sith', 'Han Solo Apple Switch Parody', 'The Newborn Uprising', and currently working on a new production scheduled for release this Fall/Winter.
Use Premiere 6.5, After Effects, Lightwave, AlamDV and a few others now on a regular basis. Age: 33 Experience: No formal training, entirely self taught (for better or worse). Produced tons of little animations for years before taking on my first fan film, 'Disaster at Naboo'. In a way, it barely makes me an experienced filmmaker. I'm more of an FX guy. I also just finished a new cloning tutorial. I will post a thread about that later. Software: Raydream (modelling), Bryce 4 (rendering and animation), After Effects 5.5, Photoshop 6. Age: 14 years old, two months, two weeks, and four days (well several hours less than that if you wanna get technical) Experience: Alright, let's see. When I was 8 or so, I would go to a friend's house and meet with a few friends, pick up a few plastic lightsabers, and film a short star wars movie. Didn't know crap about editing or special effects back then, though.
Then when I was 13 (on March 23rd), one of my friends came over. We decided to make a movie.
(Not star wars-related, though.) I started using Premiere for basic editing around April. In around June, my brother told me about TF.N, so I explored the theater section, looked at tutorials, listened to sound effects, everything.
Then on July 3rd, I finally signed up for this board. I posted once in the EPII forum in the beginning of July. Towards the end of July, I started to post here at the fanfilms forum.
Ever since then, I've been learning a lot. I've been working on my first 'real' fan-film since about May of 2002, though.
The first post that I can backtrack to was on July 19th. That post is on page 72 in my latest posts out of 77 pages total. The threads were apparently deleted on pages 73 - 77. So that about sums up my short bio. Software/Hardware: Adobe Premiere 6.0(editing) (upgrading to 6.5 soon), Adobe After Effects 5.5 PB (special FX, compositing), and Adobe Photoshop 7.0 (all images made there). Sony DCR-TRV 340 Digital-8 Camcorder. Movies Made: A few crappy, untouched, editing-wise, movies since 1997 or so.
Still working on one that I started in March, 2002. Still working on another that I started in May, 2002 (my fanfilm). Many, many FX tests done since then. Age: 18 Experience: Sophomore Theatre/Media Production major, film minor at FSU.
Started making films probably around 10 or 11 (school projects and the like). Starting making actual fictional narratives around age 13.

Show spoof), The Hybrid Project (British horror/mystery spoof), untitled Star Wars Duel, El Relo (Spanish time-traveling comedy.), Star Wars: Dark Phoenix (cancelled, but duels will be completed), and Avius (upcoming - medieval/fantasy). Software/Hardware: Sony DCR-TRV730, Adobe AE 5.0, Photoshop 6.0, Premiere 6.0. Age: 20 Experience: First major work was Duel of the Fakes Special Edition, where I did everything but film, be on film, or do the sound. I started messing around with video editing when I was 16, after being in the web design / graphic artist industry since I was 13. I can pretty much do anything with a computer, and know a ton about them too.

Within the next month I am building something between 2-3ghz with about 1gb of ram, and the new $450 ati card and a couple of 120gb HDs, dvdr cdr 5.1 surround im gonna go out on it. Age:17 Experience: I did a documentary about my high school during the very last week we spent there, and some effects tests around that time (summer '02). I've written countless original scripts. Currently I'm half way through the production of my first short film, the drama/thriller Offbeat, which I wrote late last year.

Hardware: Sony DCR-TRV30, Velbon supergood tripod, Sony DV walkman deck, a pretty good Pentium 4 PC with loads of hard disk space which seems to get used up very quick. Age: 25 Experience: AA Media Communications and Technology with Strong Emphasis in Digital Video and Audio Production, certificate in Advanced Video Production; Self taught on some gear over the years. Been out on a couple commercial shoots, a nationwide infomercial, voice talent on local radio station in Seattle, various promotional videos, assisted in Seattle Seahawks shoot in High Definition and am serving as an assistant for this weekend's production of Wrestlemania XIX in Seattle. Age: 22 Experience: First movie i ever made was a small parody commercial for a school project. I was in 7th grade.
It was our first special effect too. We paused the camcorder, moved everything around, then unpaused the recording. Couple other little projects, some VERY basic training in HS, a couple attempts at something larger during and after college, and then The Formula. Rest is history.

Started again in video editing about 6 years ago when I purchased my first Mac. Edited in Avid Cinema several projects for my classroom for Open House and other school related projects. (Parents of students love this stuff). Self taught in Premiere, AE, Photoshop.you get the idea and now learning FCP. Film Credits include Challenge of the Sith and Conspiracy along with several dozen weddings/receptions and reflection videos which have helped to fund the fan films we have made as well as those in production. Earned two Communication Technology credits, in Grade 10, and 11. Began working with Premiere then. Discovered more tutorials on After Effects and Photoshop.
All video editing is self taught. Films made: The Violation (a crime is committed and is caught on security camera.) The Best Sitcom In The World (Tribute), just a sitcom about many stereotypes in the media.
